For this project, the client wanted to make their entryway more inviting and useful by adding on a porch. It was important to design and install the new porch in such a way that it would not look out of place or “tacked on”. There was also a problem that needed to be fixed on the interior – the front door opened into a narrow space on the inside, which was restrictive and awkward. Our crew at Mast Roofing and Construction, Inc. were ready to take on the challenge! The existing front steps and railing were removed, concrete footers were poured, and the porch deck and roof were framed. Once the porch was under cover, one of the windows was removed and a new entryway door was installed in its place. The window was then re-installed where the old door once was. Next, a stained mahogany floor and beaded-board ceiling were installed. Can lighting in the ceiling gives the porch an inviting feel. On both the inside and out, you would never know such a big alteration was made! On many occasions, neighbors have stopped by to comment on how great the new porch looks.
