Nominations Begin: No Roof Left Behind

We are now accepting nominations for our 2018 No Roof Left Behind Project. Who do YOU know that deserves a new roof? A teacher? Pastor? Friend? Neighbor? For the 6th year, Mast Roofing & Construction will be installing a brand new roof for FREE to a deserving homeowner in need.

How it works

Nominate: March 15 – May 31The public submits nominations. We are looking for families that are hardworking members of the community, but may have fallen on hard times, or for some reason cannot afford a roof. When nominating, please be specific about why you think they deserve a free roof and tell their story. There are three requirements that must be met:

  1. (1) The nominee must live in Berks County or Montgomery County. (2) The nominee must own the home. (3) The nominee must be current on the mortgage for the home.
  2. Vote: We choose four finalists from all the nominations, and then present them to the public to vote on who should get the free roof. The nominee with the most votes is given the free roof.
  3. Installation: Our whole crew – office staff included – is on site and we have an Installation Celebration!

  4.  Past Winners:

    Congratulations David and Beth Lewandowski!

No Roof Left BehindDavid and Beth are the type of people that will help a friend whenever humanly possible. But that giving spirit was especially evident when Beth’s father’s health began to fail a number of years ago. They moved him into the house and made many accommodations to make him comfortable. They were his support through seemingly endless doctor’s appointments and stressful procedures, so naturally, home repairs took a back seat. In his nomination, Ken Adams says, “A new roof would be a huge relief to his family.” The roof is certainly in need of replacement – the decking underneath the shingles is “soft” and will be replaced on the entire roof.

    Congratulations Darlene Richard!

No Roof Left BehindDarlene is a familiar face in Hamburg, having worked 2 jobs for years in order to maintain her home. Her roof is 35 years old and she has known for years that it needs replacing, but a series of hard knocks and health problems make it impossible to afford. Last summer, a bad storm sent her chimney crashing down onto her roof, but insurance covered only the chimney because of the age of her roof. Darlene is the kind of friend and neighbor that everyone wishes they had. She faithfully gives of her time every week to give her brother respite from caring for his wife who has early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She does so much for others, so her friends feel she deserves some good luck in return. She worries constantly that her roof will begin to leak and she may be forced to sell her beloved home. Her neighborhood does not want to lose her, and so they nominated their much loved friend to receive a much needed roof.
